One Week

Our big day is in one week from tomorrow! ONE WEEK. 

Once our new adventure starts i'll probably start a new blog....eventually, about our life together as Mr and Mrs.

We are all smiles over here and I feel like there's nothing that can stop it. When you find the one that you know will be your forever, you can't imagine life without him by your side.

NEWS!

1. my family (parents and two sisters) now reside in Canada. i miss them like crazy and refuse to drive past our old home because i did once the other day and it made me cry :(

2. I'M ENGAGED! this is the best news because it's what's making me so dang happy this past week. we've been engaged since last Monday, i can't believe it's been a whole week! he is my best friend and seriously i've never been more happy with life. we're getting married May 3rd and i caaaaaaaaaaaaaan't wait.

 i feel like the luckiest girl alive, because i am. i'm so stoked to be a part of the Carlson family too, they are the coolest. and here's the ring!

i've got lots of pictures and videos too from that day (most of them taken without me knowing that he would be asking me to marry him an hour later) which is awesome cause i've got that special day documented pretty well :) i was completely surprised which made it so fun! i love him.

and 3. MLKJR Day Eve did happen this year (4th year runnin) we take that day very seriously if you didn't know.

that girl leaves in a month! noooooooooooo! i'm going to miss her like crazy.

& guess what. Tomorrow I start a new job. WHOOP WHOOP. I'm stoked, and also so glad to be back in Utah.

2012

to start 2012 off we continued our tradition of MLKJ Day Eve:

the Spring semester of last year in Logan was da bomb. but really though, fun EVERYDAY ALL DAY. we spent a lot of time on top of mountains and exploring and dancing and just being weird. i miss those times and those ppl.

then the summer came which sometimes i have a hard time remembering what even happened during the summer of 2012. i spent it in Evanston, WY working and being with family that i don't usually get to be with very much. it wasn't the best of summers but it was still pretty great. Chaser came home from his mission in June and we hung out tonz, well as much as we could being two hours apart. i ran the Ragnar which was so much fun and i also ran a half marathon in August, the two medals i have make me feel cooler than they should.

school came and i went from Evanston to Logan (still two hours away). i spent a weekend with Chase and his family camping. we said goodbye to our Mia who was stolen by San Fran. my roommates (of last year, i still call them that) and i made some noobish music videos and continued our freshman year dance legacy by dancing to all the things and playing waterpong and skinny dipping, etc. Carrie and i also continued spice nights and we built some cool blanket forts and stuff. i went on a wicked awesome canyoneering trip with my dad and bro to California where we jumped off cliffs. i had my 20th birthday and i almost got a 4.0 in school, so close. my dad and i took Chase canyoneering in Zion's in October and it was kind of a failure with the weather but we still had a blast.

Carrie Bird got her mission call to Tennessee and we went for a bike ride in the cold. i moved home after the semester ended only to find out my family is moving to Canada real soon and i'll be homeless-ish. it'll be an adventure. Christmas parties and Christmas came and went way too fast like always. but we did get a white Christmas! i went with Chase's family down to St. G after Christmas and laughed for a few days, they crack me up. and then the year was over, just like that.

my best friend is going to serve a mission! i'm so excited for her but am seriously going to miss her so freaking bad. come March 27th i'm gonna be one sad girl.

she has such a strong testimony & will do amazing work for the people in Tennessee. i'm so proud of her. LOVE YOU CARRIE! we'll be the best of friends for life, but really though.

this really is probably the lamest video made in all the world but whatever, it's all i've got from the last couple of months. i never remember to video anything anymore.

& this music video was made at midnight. we are so embarrassing (RETARDS) but it's fun. lots of memories with this song and the shooter hands dance. you don't even wanna know what we did afterwards around 2am heh heh. i love these girls.

finally finished this of our trip to California last month. those canyons were really like nothing i've ever seen, and more water than i've ever experienced when canyoneering. the first two days were the "jump trips", it's very rare to find a canyon with so many jumps and slides (probably twice as many jumps as there were rappels). the last day was an easy peasy canyon with no jumps, in fact it was kind of boring. i don't know if i'll ever be completely satisfied with another canyon after doing the jump trips, they were absolutely beautiful, wet, unique, scary, and exhausting. jump, swim, pull yourself out of the water, boulder hop, hike, downclimb, repeat. that's how it went, i felt like i was in boot camp. but it was so much fun! you knew when it was a longer jump because you would jump, look up, back at the water, back up, and then back at the water all before you hit the water.
i wish i had had a GoPro more than anything for this trip.

Chase & his family invited me to their Labor Day camping trip last weekend.

haha don't ya love that last pic of us 4-wheeling? we did the Lava Zipline Adventure too, which involved this awesome Slovakian guy named Milan. i didn't take as much video as i would have liked...it's mostly us 4-wheeling, oh well.

june&july

back in June, Carrie & i hung out with some friends on campus in Logan. we found some spears and threw them around like any normal person would. then we found the "campus troubadour" he had huge bell bottoms on and carried a guitar around, he taught us some karate, surprise! and then serenaded us under the moon.

usually, when i am having a good life moment, i am wanting to video and take pictures of every second. but lately there's been a distraction that seems to hold my attention better than my camera. which i am totally okay with. this would be why i only captured a few seconds of this date on video...

remember when i wrote this post forever ago? i wrote "i hope someday i can sum love up in my own words". well, guess what, i think i could probably do a pretty good job of it right now. it's hard to put into words but it's easy to feel. my glass box has been invaded and i couldn't be happier. i'm not one to get ahead of myself or even write stuff like this, so it must be a pretty big deal if i feel like shouting it to the world every second of every day. maybe some day soon i will take the time to write my thoughts on love, sum the feelings up into words.

running the Ragnar was so much freaking fun. i would do it this weekend, and next weekend, and the next weekend if i could. run all the Ragnars! it is so grueling, but so much fun.

another video. i made this forever and a half ago after we took a trip to St. George for spring break. for some reason the video wouldn't compile until today. SO HAPPY. there was much heartbreak over the fact that it wouldn't work, and now it has, and i just miss those girls like crazy all over again now.

i am so glad i have this weird thing about me where i have to video/take a picture of every little thing in my life. i can open up my Vimeo and remember all the memories i never want to forget. when i was making this video i had already forgotten most of these moments, so thankfully they were caught on film. even if it was only for two seconds. man, i love having an iPhone. i can't say it enough times. that thing is so easy to document your life on.

April of 2012 was definitely one of the best months of my life. so many things were packed into those few weeks. what a good time of life.
