Spring Break 2012

killer face mask stuff, hot tub, perfect seventy degree weather, St. George temple, swimming at Kim's Uncle's place, Sand Hollow, cliff jumping, red rock, hiking, Chuckwalla, Snow Canyon, exploring, climbing rocks, chacos, playlists, dancing to Akon, car rides, Twenty Five Main, shopping, Urban Renewal, Five Guys, "The Crack" in the dark, that huge beetle, wandering forever in the dark, that playground, bike rides, running, tennis, laying in the sun, goooogles, all of Kim's new homes, Carries poofer that frightened the Elder's Quorum President, Footloose in the theater room, soaking our feet in the tub, cruise control, life lessons in the condo about deodorant, failed plans, plans to not make plans, finally getting into the temple, pancakes, so many cupcakes, Hunger Games all the time, carousel, candy shop, a happy list from Chase, yoga everywhere.

a few things that i thought about while in St. George this week:

-i love my roommates & our adopted roommate Elise. i knew this already but it became even more true as of late. they are not allowed to be close with their roommates next fall, not allowed.

-all i want to do is climb everything i see. every sing rock formation, i want to climb it.

-not only do i want to climb everything, i want to explore everything & get a picture of it as well.

-i'm not afraid of climbing up somewhere high when others won't, but i can't even squish a beetle without screaming.

-St. George is a nice place to go. there is so much to do & i think i would love living there.

-the St. George temple is one of my favorites now.
-i am so excited for this summer. climbing, biking, weddings, trips, Ragnar, Chase comes home, & not buying groceries.

spring break actually lived up to its name this year.

okay, while you watch this just look at where she is placing her hands, she is holding on by her fingertips. and then look at her feet, there is nothing beneath her feet! she is seriously just like walking up the rock by the tips of her toes. this girl is incredible, who knew so much power and strength could come out of that girl. 

i'm dying, this is the coolest thing.

Downton Abbey

i have to copy Carrie & say that Downton Abbey is the most intriguing TV series i've ever watched. everything about it is beautiful & interesting. i love that it is placed in a time period that no one really talks about..so interesting. life was so completely different then...

it's addicting, once you start you cannot stop. watch it people, you will love it.

canyoneering.

my dad is kind of your go to guy on anything having to do with camping, hiking, canyoneering, climbing...etc. a lot of people don't know what canyoneering is, basically it's a mix of climbing, hiking, and camping. so great right?! anyway, i've gone on a good number of canyoneering trips with my dad (mostly to Zions) and i never really appreciated how awesome it is until this last trip to Death Valley. canyoneering really is so fun. not a lot of people get to experience being deep inside a canyon full of water and beautiful sights, those are places not a lot of eyes get to see. i really wish i could explain some of the places and moments i've seen and had inside those pretty canyons. the pictures above don't give the scenery justice at all, the colors are all wrong. i'm so glad i grew up in a family who appreciates the outdoors, i'd be a completely different person if i didn't have that. it has my heart!

we usually go canyoneering with people that my dad has met over the years. some live in Utah, some in other states, and some are traveling the world as we speak. the best part of spending a few days at a time with these people is they are full of stories. it is so fun just listening to them talk about all the places they've been and the memories they've made.

i hope i can be like that someday.

there's something magical about sitting around a fire. we all know this.

it doesn't matter who you are with, you're going to have a good time.

you're all telling stories & laughing. everything is funnier when told around a campfire.

then you look up & the sky is so bright with all those stars that cannot be numbered.
